We would like to mention the HUGE accomplishment of:
our NOVICE (gr. 9) boys team placing SIXTH overall for points out of 12 much bigger schools from the region!
And
Our JUNIOR (gr. 10) boys team placing FIFTH against 16 bigger schools from the region! And with only 3 boys in each of these teams.
We are so proud TCH represented so well!
Elementary track and field: Try-outs are ongoing. A calendar with the schedule for try-outs has been hung in the hallway for the students to check. Please ensure your child has runners. Running/jumping in sandals is not good for our shins.
The SSSAA meet is June 16 and 17 at 9:30 am. Since our school year has ended parents will be responsible for getting their kids to and from the stadium. We encourage students to come out and cheer on our athletes, but because of the strict supervision rules from SSSAA, our limited coaches cannot be responsible for any who are NOT a member of the TBCS team. If your child isn’t a registered athlete, a parent will have to stay and supervise them.
Spring Baseball: The junior (grade 5/6, boys and girls) tournament will be June10. The schedule will be sent home in an email next week. The practice schedule has been posted in the hallways for the players to see.
Piano Lessons: Anyone wanting to sign up for piano lessons for the 26/27 school year please fill out a registration form. Forms were sent out Friday with announcements, and if you need a paper copy please email or call the office.
Twice As Nice: Please click the link below, or head to the school website and click "volunteer" to sign up for shift at Twice as Nice! There are many options for slots and even an hour or two helps tremendously! The pile that needs to be sorted is massive and many hands make light work!
If you have any questions, please reach out to twiceasnicevolunteers@gmail.com or call/text Erika Mol at 807-708-0697.
Payment for School Outings: If you committed to a field trip and your child subsequently was unable to attend due to illness, appointments, sporting events, etc., the amount owing must still be paid to the school student fund. These outings are typically “pre-paid” for by the school, so any amount not paid by parents comes out of the school’s funds. Please e-transfer payment to cash@tbcs.school.
Lost and Found: The lost and found has once again evolved into a table full of hoodies! These items will be donated to TAN at the end of the school year. Please have a look or ask your children to check for their missing items.
Please call or email the school office if there are any changes to the daily bus schedule for your children. The office needs to be aware of who is going where or being picked up and when, even if your child has his/her own phone. This is a liability issue. In the mornings, if your child(ren) is/are not attending please email or call the office to confirm. In the afternoon if your child(ren) is/are not on the bus please call the office to confirm. The office has a communication routine so that the teachers, bus drivers and administration are all on the same page and every child is safely accounted for. Thank you.
Planning for next year: The school is currently budgeting and planning classes for the 26/27 school year under the assumption that current families and students will be returning, unless we hear otherwise.
Employment Opportunities: Thunder Bay Christian School is currently seeking to hire for the 26/27 school year;

Spiritual Life @ TBCS: This past Wednesday we gathered all the students for a special time of worship in the gym before Bible Study Buddies. It brought much joy to hear the voices of our youngest to our oldest students singing songs of praise to God together. Afterwards, we worked within our buddy groups to continue digging in to God's love as described in 1 Corinthians 13:5 "...It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged." We also did some further study on The Prodigal Son, in which the older buddies reread the parable to their younger buddies and then had to cut and paste the story in the correct order of events. At this time of the school year, we are seeing our buddy groups working very well together, now that they have had so much time to build trust and relationship. We are so thankful to the Lord for our Christian school, where we are free to study the Word, praise, pray, and fellowship with one another!

Spiritual Life @ TBCS: This past Wednesday we studied God’s love from 1 Corinthians 13:5b in Chapel: “It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.” In Jr. Chapel Mrs. Awosika used the parable of “The Prodigal” son to illustrate what it looks like when we go our own way, what it looks like when we are irritable, and what it looks like when the Lord forgives our record of wrongs. She also showed the short of “Forevergreen” by Josh Garrels to further illustrate the love of Christ which compelled Him to lay down His life for all people, even though not a single person deserved it. Feel free to check out this short Christian film on YouTube, if you are interested.
In Sr. Chapel, Youth Pastor Graeme Gibson came to share about the same verse. The Sr. students enjoyed his ice breaker game of “Get to Know Pastor Graeme”. They also seemed to be thinking deeply about their own lives and how often they demand their own way, are irritable, or keep a record of another person’s wrongs. Pastor Graeme finished his talk with a reminder that we can only love others when we have accepted the love of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. It was a good reminder that God alone is the source of eternal, sacrificial love.
